FAQ: What Might I Feel During a Remote Session?

This is one of the most common questions, and the honest answer is: it varies. Some people feel a great deal. Some people feel very little. Some people feel nothing during the session and notice changes in the hours or days that follow. None of these experiences mean the session has failed or succeeded. They simply describe what people report.

That said, there are common patterns worth knowing.

Many people describe a settling in the first few minutes. The Relaxing Points opening of a session is designed to calm the nervous system, and clients often notice the breath slowing, the shoulders dropping, or a sensation of weight in the body. Some describe it as the moment before sleep, when thinking starts to soften.

During the Acu-Zone, the focused 29-minute treatment, sensations vary more. Some clients report warmth, tingling, or a gentle pulsing in specific areas. Some feel something in the area of focus you agreed on with Guadalupe, even though no needles are physically present in their body. Some feel a general quiet without a specific location. Some fall asleep, especially during evening sessions, and have no recollection of sensation at all.

A smaller number of people feel something they do not expect. Emotion can surface. A memory may come up. A laugh, or tears, or a wave of tiredness. This is not unusual in any acupuncture practice and is not a cause for alarm. If it happens, you are welcome to let it pass without analysing it.

It is also completely normal to feel nothing during the session and to notice changes later. Sleep that night may have a different quality. Tension that lived in your shoulders may shift the next day. Mood may settle. These delayed responses are common and do not mean the session was less effective.

What you will not feel is needles in your body. No equipment is sent. Nothing physical travels. The work is done with proxy needling on Guadalupe's side, held in connection with you through your name, intention, and area of focus.

Related questions

Q: What if I feel nothing at all?

A: That is a normal experience for some people, especially in a first session. It does not mean the work has not landed. Some clients are very accustomed to holding tension and the body takes time to recognise the invitation to rest. Others simply have a quieter sensory style. We suggest noticing what happens in the 24 hours after the session as well, since responses can be delayed. If after two or three sessions you still notice nothing at all, it may be honest feedback that this approach is not your match, and that is welcome information.

Q: Can I feel something in the wrong area?

A: Sensation in unexpected areas is not unusual in acupuncture, including in person. Meridians connect different parts of the body, so a focus on one area can produce sensation elsewhere. There is nothing to do about it during the session. Simply notice and let it pass. If you want, share what you noticed with Guadalupe in a Full Session feedback window or in your notes.

Q: Is it normal to cry or feel emotional?

A: Yes. Acupuncture in any form can sometimes bring emotion to the surface. The body holds a great deal, and stillness allows things to move. If tears come, let them come. There is nothing wrong, nothing to fix, and nothing to apologise for. Most people describe a sense of quiet relief afterwards.

Q: Will I feel anything different at the end?

A: Some people end the session feeling deeply settled, almost heavy, ready to sleep. Some feel light, alert, calmly clear. Some end without a specific feeling at all and only notice differences later. Whatever you feel is welcome. We suggest taking a few minutes before getting up, drinking water, and not rushing into the next thing. If it is evening, simply sleep.

Next step. A Mini Session is the simplest way to find out what you feel. Twenty-nine minutes, received at home, with a treatment image sent afterwards.
