Why Acupuncture.is
I am the founder of Acupuncture.is, a space dedicated to bringing the healing art of acupuncture and holistic wellness into people’s lives — wherever they are.
After working at Modern Acupuncture, the clinic unfortunately closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I sought alternative solutions that would allow me to continue serving others, planting the seeds of wellness in people’s lives. I began offering remote acupuncture to friends and family living abroad and later combined in-person and remote sessions to reach a broader audience.
As my teacher once said, “The true difficulty of remote acupuncture pertains to spirituality and belief — your own belief and your patients’ beliefs.” I could not agree more. This insight became a guiding principle in my practice.
My journey began with a deep calling to understand the body as more than just a physical form — as an interconnected system of energy, emotion, and spirit. Through years of study and compassionate practice, I have witnessed how acupuncture can not only relieve pain but also restore balance, clarity, and inner peace.
Motivated by this vision, I founded Acupuncture.is to make healing accessible through both in-person and remote sessions. My approach blends traditional wisdom with modern understanding, creating a bridge between ancient healing practices and contemporary living.
For me, acupuncture is not merely a practice — it is a lifestyle, a way to nurture harmony across the four bodies: physical, energetic, mental, and spiritual. My mission is simple yet profound: to support others toward their natural state of wellness, one session at a time.

Remote Acupuncture FAQs
Remote acupuncture (also called distance acupuncture) is an acupuncture-based approach delivered without physical needles on your body. You can receive a session wherever you are, as long as you have a quiet space to rest.
This page answers the most common questions, and helps you prepare, track results, and get the most from each session.
What is remote acupuncture?
Remote acupuncture is a method of working with acupuncture points and the body’s energy pathways without the use of needles. Sessions are conducted through focused attention, therapeutic intention, and other non-contact techniques applied by the practitioner.
How can acupuncture work at a distance?
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, healing is not limited to physical contact. Practitioners work with the body’s energy system, which is understood to be interconnected and responsive beyond physical touch.
How does a remote sessions work?
Mini session
Mini Sessions are a simple, effortless way to support your body’s energy without disrupting your routine.
There’s nothing extra to do—sessions work passively while you go about your day or rest, helping you feel calmer, more balanced, and less tense.
Designed for gentle, consistent support over time, they’re ideal for maintaining overall well-being with minimal effort.
Full session
Full Sessions provide a personalized and comprehensive approach to your well-being. This includes a live video consultation to discuss your concerns and goals, followed by a customized treatment plan and your remote acupuncture session.
Ideal for those seeking focused, in-depth, and individualized support.
What techniques might use in remote acupuncture?
Approaches may vary by practitioner and can include:
  • Intention-based work: Focused attention directed toward specific areas or acupuncture points.
  • Acupuncture models: Working with a mapped representation that corresponds to acupuncture points.
  • Acu-zone focus: Addressing broader energetic zones associated with particular symptoms or patterns.
  • Guided relaxation: Supporting the nervous system to help the body settle, regulate, and respond more effectively.
What is my role as a patient during a remote session?
Your role is simple:
  • Create a quiet, comfortable space.
  • Relax, breathe slowly, and allow your body to settle.
  • Minimize distractions and stay off your phone.
  • If your mind wanders, gently return your attention to your breath and body sensations.
Some sessions are conducted live via video call, while others take place as you rest or sleep.
What might I feel during the session?
People may experience a range of natural sensations during a session, including:
  • Warmth or heat in a specific area
  • Tingling, pulsing, or gentle pressure
  • A sense of heaviness or lightness in the limbs
  • Subtle muscle twitches
  • A sensation of energy moving through the body
Emotionally, you may notice:
  • A deep sense of calm or sleepiness
  • Emotional release (such as tears, laughter, or relief)
  • Visual imagery with eyes closed
  • Greater mental clarity, insight, or a shift in mood
How do I prepare?
Prepare your space.
Full Session:
  • Choose a quiet room where you will not be disturbed.
  • Use pillows and a blanket so your body can fully relax.
  • Dim lighting may help you settle more easily.
  • Keep water nearby for after the session.
  • Avoid a heavy meal right before the session.
  • If caffeine makes you feel restless, consider skipping it beforehand.
  • Take 2–3 minutes to practice slow, steady breathing before beginning.
  • Charge your device and ensure a stable internet connection.
  • Use speakerphone or a headset so you can lie down comfortably and hands-free.
  • Confirm the session format in advance (brief check-in at the start, a quiet period during the session, and re-connection at the end).
Mini Session:
  • Simply go to bed as you normally would. There’s nothing extra you need to do—just allow yourself to rest and fall asleep as usual.
Why do we close and ground the session?
Closing the session:
Full session
  • A proper closing helps you return to normal awareness smoothly and comfortably.
  • I will gradually ease out of the session focus.
  • You may share anything you noticed or experienced during the session.
  • Grounding may include slow breathing, gentle movement, and re-orienting yourself to your surroundings.
Mini session
Simply check in when you wake up and notice how you feel. Sometimes changes are subtle, and you may notice differences in the days following the session as the body continues to integrate.
What should I do after the session?
After Your Session (Full or Mini)
  • Drink water to support hydration.
  • Drink a warm cup of tea to support the body’s natural “settling” process in a simple, gentle way
-From a traditional perspective, it helps encourage circulation of fluids and energy, supporting the body as it integrates the session. Warmth is considered soothing and stabilizing, especially when the nervous system has been relaxed or re-calibrated to support grounding and hydration.
  • Keep your schedule light for a few hours if possible.
  • A slow walk or gentle stretching can help you settle and integrate the experience.
  • Eat a simple, nourishing meal when you feel ready.
  • Enjoy your life!
Can symptoms flare before they improve?
Similar to other acupuncture treatments, some people may occasionally notice a temporary increase or worsening of symptoms before improvement occurs. However, this is not common, and each person’s response is individual.
Tracking your progress
Symptom Log
Track one to three main symptoms using a 1–10 scale. Note both intensity and frequency (for example: pain levels, sleep quality, anxiety, headaches).
Energy and Mood Notes
Track your mood, energy, and sleep patterns. Often, the first improvements appear here, even before the main symptoms shift.
Session Reflections
After each session, take a moment to reflect:
  • How did I feel during the session?
  • How did I feel immediately afterward?
  • How did I feel the next day?
This helps identify which sessions had the most noticeable impact and in what way.
Over time, it can also reveal meaningful patterns, such as:
“After the third session I experienced a strong emotional release, and since then my anxiety has been much lower.”
These notes can help refine and adjust your treatment plan with greater accuracy.
Duration of Relief
Track how long improvements last:
  • Does relief last 2 days, 1 week, or longer?
  • Does it build over time with fewer symptom returns?
This information can help guide session frequency:
  • If relief tends to fade after 5–6 days, weekly sessions may be more supportive.
  • If relief lasts around two weeks, sessions every two weeks may be sufficient after an initial intensive phase.
  • Acupuncture is a lifestyle, and everything matters in this process—your sessions, food, rest, exercise, and recovery all work together to support your overall well-being.
