Creating the Treatment Plan
Following the initial assessment, the patient will provide key elements to identify energetic code, recognizing patterns of imbalance or disharmony in the body’s energy (Qi) and meridian channels. This plan may also integrate:
dietary suggestions
lifestyle adjustments
and other holistic methods to enhance the body’s natural healing abilities.

Remote acupuncture (also called distance acupuncture or tele-acupuncture) is an acupuncture-based approach delivered without physical needles on your body. You can receive a session wherever you are, as long as you have a quiet space to rest.
This page answers the most common questions clients ask Guadalupe, and helps you prepare, track results, and get the most from each session.
What is remote acupuncture?
Remote acupuncture is a way of working with acupuncture points and energy pathways without inserting needles into the skin. Instead, the session is guided through focused attention, intention, and other non-contact methods used by the practitioner.
How can acupuncture work at a distance?
Qi (pronounced “chee”) is described in TCM as the vital life force that animates the body. Qi is said to move through pathways called meridians (also known as channels, or the Jing Luo system). These channels are linked to organ systems and connect the body as one network.
A common TCM principle is: when there is smooth flow, comfort improves. When flow is disrupted, symptoms may show up.
How does a remote session with Guadalupe work?
Initial consultation
Guadalupe starts with a short consultation (often by phone or video) to understand your concerns, symptoms, and goals.
Assessment
Like an in-person intake, Guadalupe may ask detailed questions about your health history, sleep, stress, digestion, pain patterns, and emotional state. Some practitioners also use tongue observation via video as part of a TCM-style assessment.
Setting an intention
You and Guadalupe agree on a clear intention for the session. This shared focus helps keep the work precise and aligned with what you need.
What techniques might Guadalupe use in remote acupuncture?
Approaches vary by practitioner, and may include:
Intention-based work (focused attention directed to specific areas or points)
Surrogate models (working on a mapped model that corresponds to acupuncture points)
Acu-zone focus (working with broader zones linked to symptoms)
Guided relaxation (supporting the nervous system so the body can settle and respond)
What is my role during a remote session?
Your job is simple:
Make a quiet space and get comfortable
Relax, breathe slowly, and let your body settle
Stay off your phone and minimise distractions
If your mind wanders, return to your breath and body sensations
Some sessions are done live (with a call). Others are done offline at an agreed time.
What might I feel during the session?
People report a wide range of normal sensations, including:
Warmth or heat in a specific area
Tingling, pulsing, or gentle pressure
A sense of heaviness or lightness in limbs
Small muscle twitches
A feeling of energy moving through the body
Emotionally, you might notice:
Deep calm or sleepiness
Emotional release (tears, laughter, a sense of relief)
Visual imagery behind closed eyes
Clearer thinking, insight, or a shift in mood
How do I prepare?
Prepare your space
Choose a quiet room where you will not be disturbed
Use pillows and a blanket so your body can fully relax
Dim lighting helps some people settle more quickly
Keep water nearby for afterwards
Prepare your body and mind
Avoid a heavy meal right before the session
Skip caffeine just before, if it makes you restless
Do 2 to 3 minutes of slow breathing beforehand
If your session is by video or phone
Charge your device and aim for a stable connection
Use speakerphone or a headset so you can lie down hands-free
Agree on the format (talk at the start, quiet during the work, then reconnect at the end)
Why do we close and ground the session?
A proper close helps you return to normal awareness smoothly.
Guadalupe will ease off the session focus
You may share what you noticed
Grounding can include slow breaths, gentle movement, and re-orienting to the room
What should I do after the session?
Take your time sitting up and standing
Drink water or warm tea
Keep things light for a few hours if you can
A slow walk or gentle stretching can help you settle
Eat a simple, nourishing meal
Can symptoms flare before they improve?
Sometimes people notice a short-lived flare in symptoms before things ease. If anything feels intense, unusual, or worrying, tell Guadalupe and seek medical support where needed.
Tracking your progress
Symptom log
Track one to three main symptoms on a 1 to 10 scale. Note intensity and frequency (for example, pain levels, sleep quality, anxiety, headaches).
Energy and mood notes
Track mood, energy, and sleep. Often the first improvements show up there, even before the main symptom shifts.
More tracking methods
Session reflections
After each session, write a short reflection:
How did I feel during the session?
How did I feel right after?
How did I feel the next day?
This highlights which sessions had the biggest impact and in what way.
It also helps when you review progress with Guadalupe. You might notice patterns like: “After the third session I had a strong emotional release, and since then my anxiety has been much lower.”
Those notes help Guadalupe adjust the treatment plan with more accuracy.
Duration of relief
Track how long changes last:
Did relief last 2 days, 1 week, or longer?
Does it build over time with less return of symptoms?
This helps you and Guadalupe decide session frequency.
If relief fades after 5 to 6 days, weekly sessions may suit you
If relief holds for around two weeks, sessions every two weeks may be enough after an initial intensive phase
